Introducing Amanda Hahn – A Talented Scholarship Recipient!
We are thrilled to announce Amanda Hahn as the distinguished recipient of the highly esteemed Kelli Joy O’Laughlin Memorial Scholarship. Amanda, a remarkable student from Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, IL, has demonstrated outstanding achievements in both academics and athletics. This prestigious scholarship, valued at $1500 and renewable for four years, is contingent upon maintaining a B average throughout her college studies. This requirement reflects her commitment to academic excellence and ensures ongoing support for her educational journey.
Throughout her high school journey, Amanda’s remarkable athletic prowess and dedication have set her apart. As a four-year Varsity starter on the Lacrosse Team, she has showcased her remarkable skills and leadership abilities, serving as a captain since her sophomore year. Her talent earned her recognition as a Second Team All-State player in 2021, and she was also awarded the defensive MVP. Additionally, Amanda’s leadership qualities were acknowledged by her teammates when she received the team Leadership Award during her junior year.
Not only excelling in lacrosse, but Amanda has also made a significant impact on the volleyball court. As a four-year member of the volleyball team, she has consistently displayed exemplary sportsmanship, earning her the Sportsmanship Award in both 2021 and 2022. Her dedication, supportive nature, and commitment to being an encouraging teammate have made a lasting impression.
Beyond her athletic achievements, Amanda has actively engaged in various STEM-related activities. As a proud member of GEMS (Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science) for four years, she has demonstrated her passion for these fields. Additionally, Amanda’s participation in the Athlete Leadership Program further exemplifies her drive to excel not only in sports but also in leadership roles both in the classroom and in life.
Amanda’s remarkable achievements have not gone unnoticed by her peers and educators. In a recommendation, one of her teachers praised her work ethic, empathy, and intelligence. Amanda’s ability to maintain excellent grades while actively participating in athletics and several STEM co-curricular activities is truly commendable.
