The Kelli Joy Memorial Scholarship Fund recognizes it first two award winners on Friday May 25th. The $2500 scholarship was presented to Taylor Sopron and Anna Doten. It was an honor and privilege for Brenda and John O’Laughlin to participate in the Lyons Township High School (LTHS) Senior Honors Day.
The scholarship is presented annually to two recipients that have participated in athletic teams for 3 of their 4 years. Maintained a 3.0 out of 4.0 (unweighted) GPA. Also two recommendations are required to be eligible for this scholarship, , one from an athletic coach and one from an academic teacher or community / school service sponsor. Finally the applicants completed the following essay (500 words maximum): How did I demonstrate my compassion for others?
