Cross Country was one of Kelli O’Laughlin’s favorite sports when she was in middle school. In her name and memory, the Kelli Joy O’Laughlin Foundation is hosting its 8th annual Run For Kelli on Sunday, October 06, 2019.

Kelli was a freshman at Lyons Township when her life was taken by a burglar in her home.  Kelli’s family and much of the community come together to remember her, celebrate her life, and raise money for her foundation.

Run For Kelli Includes a 5K Run or 1 Mile Walk!
The course for the 5K winds its way around Lyons Township High School South Campus, following their Cross Country course, where Kelli attended school as a freshman in 2011. Last year, more than 800 runners, joggers, and walkers followed the 5K path to raise money for college scholarships to high school seniors throughout Illinois and the Chicago area.  There are no streets used during this run and this year there will be water on the course at the 2-mile marker.

Runners prizes were awarded for top 3 male and female finishers and top finishers in each of our age categories.

Run For Kelli Keeps Families Involved!

We encourage all participants to bring their families and spend the morning with us.   Bagels, Coffee, Fruit, Sports Drinks, Jimmy John’s and other goodies to eat. There is also face painting and other activities for the children, including a free 50-yard dash for the 8 and under crowd!

Run For Kelli Offers Peer-to-Peer Fundraising!

We are often asked how people can help and one easy way is fundraising on behalf of the KJO Foundation.  For the sixth year in a row, we’re offering Individual or Group fundraising online, which allows our very passionate participants to get their families and friends involved!  Please set up a Fundraising page or join a team to raise more together!
