May 19th, 2015.  Two students from Benet Academy were awarded the first ever internet scholarships available to high school seniors from Illinois.  This scholarship is memory of Kelli Joy O’Laughlin, it is for $1500 renewable for four years if a 3.0 GPA is maintained.

Kyle Kenagy a four year varsity soccer player and was appointed to a national team in his senior year.  Kyle worked with the National Alliance for Mental Health and organized volunteers from Benet to attend the Wednesday drop in day for the past 18 months.  Kyle is proud to say that the next coordinator is also from Benet too.  Kyle will attend Yale University, study engineering and play soccer on their team. Sean Harnik was a three sport athlete at Benet.  He ran Cross Country in the fall, he ran Track and Field in the spring and in the winter swam too!  Sean also scored a perfect 36 on his ACT test.  Sean is ranked #2 at Benet and will deliver one of the graduation speeches.  On top of that Sean just completed his Eagle Scout project, which was building a fence and gate for the St. Procopius Abbey.  Finally he was an active member of the Symphonic Band, Marching Band, and Jazz Band.  Sean will be attending the University of Miami in FL.
